The last version was working great, I would see my camera and tap “M” and “A” to capture motion and alert me. With this version, it won’t stay connected to my camera, and when I tap “M” and “A”, I get menus that don’t appear to do anything. Very disappointed.
I like this app but ever since iOS 14, PTZ controls have gotten more and more sluggish and glitchy. Manual PTZ controls disappear when rotating a full screen live view and often when controlling a camera, video and audio will drop (getting the red X in center screen). Also when controlling a camera the app will completely drop back to the standard camera picker view. This last one may be due to a change in iOS 14 regarding touch sensitivity settings as it seems iOS 13 was not as sensitive to finger drags where iOS 14 is - and translates a finger drag to a “go back to the previous page”. On iPad, when resuming the app, the previously selected camera is not displayed, but rather the first one in the sequence. This has been a problem for over a month. I have to keep swiping to the camera I had previously selected every time the app is brought to the foreground. This is a easy bug to fix, but yet has remained for over a month. Why is this issue not being address in a timely fashion?
This is by far the fastest way to connect to a security spy server, the app works good and performs well until I try to playback recorded footage, it says that the server is not responding. Does atlanta have casinos. However I'm giving this 5 stars because I believe Ben will have this fixed quickly and security spy works so well I believe in this software.
Easily solved some of the issues I was having with remote patrol. Playback is cleaner and less annoying. Interface is clean. Great job for a 1.0 version. Suggestions. 1. Notifications for motion detected. 2. Captures - should be able to swipe to the next capture instead of having to click done and then click on another capture. Also, to be able to toggle filter for videos or images.
It does kind of work with one server. I have three. I can't add multiple servers. I only change the first. Totalfinder 1 8 2. I miss a list of cameras without pictures. I have 40 cameras. A long list with pictures becomes a problem. It gets to long and hard to find the right one to look at. I also miss to be able to name the servers. I don't want to only see the IP number.
I've been using the Security Spy Mac app to control, view and record video from 4 cameras for a few years. I've also used a couple of 3rd party apps for the iPad and iPhone to access the video. While the apps work, they are not consistent between iPad and iPhone in operation and neither offers Apple TV viewing. This app from the Security Spy developer addresses these issues cleanly with a simple interface and fast response time. Recommended.
A very easy to use and elegant app for viewing. Setup was a breeze. Optional upgrade is beyond fair.I would love to see a low bandwidth mode like in some other apps where it lowers the image quality and time interval. In a world of capped data plans, this feature would alleviate my worry of using too many MB's.
SecuritySpy for iOS has been working great.I think the nicest part is that you can quickly access all of your cameras and audio. The paid-for upgrade has a Multiplex feature which makes it quick and easy to see all of your cameras.I have used SecuritySpy on my Mac for 10 years or so and have always found the software to be loaded with cool features. In general, this is a great piece of software to match the SecuritySpy on my Mac.
